※ Download: Apple mac keyboard not working

If the keyboard is connected to your system, the Caps Lock light turns on when you press it. That said, Apple is also coming off a very public and messy PR debacle after the company was forced to admit that it to improve performance as batteries aged; Apple eventually for the affected phones and made its software more transparent about how iPhones. The Bluetooth app can see the keyboard with its name, but when connecting to it and trying to enter the code on the laptop there is no response from the keyboard.

I purchased the keyboard from Apple about a year ago and have always been super pleased with it. They all use similar frequencies, so another device could be causing the keyboard and mouse to loose their connection with the iMac. I have been locked out of my mac mini as the Apple bluetooth keyboard and trackpad are ignored now because I was playing with new bluetooth devices in the same room. No amount of rebooting, re-connecting would work, with or without holding down the power button on the KB.

Apple Keyboard not working - This worked, and I was able to get my husband back in business with his iMac and its keyboard! Much of the differences in Windows vs.

I need to start off by saying that I'm not a Mac person, so forgive me for not knowing some of the basic terminology. I'm looking at a friend's Macbook. It's a white 2. Her internal keyboard has stopped working, but a USB keyboard works fine. The integrated touchpad works just fine, too. She swears up and down that she didnt drop it and didnt spill anything on it, which looks to be true. I've booted to an OSX install disc attempting to bypass the OS and see if it was a software issue and it doesn't work there, either. I didn't go through with the reinstall, because it didn't seem necessary. Being a PC guy, at this point I'd normally say definitively that the keyboard needs to be replaced. After some googling, I was shocked to find out that I was able to reset its PRAM using the Command-Option-P-R keys. While that process seems to actually work, it doesn't fix the problem. Why would the KB work there, but not in OSX or the install disc? Try to start up in Safe Mode and test the keyboard again. To start up into Safe Mode to Safe Boot , do this: 1. Be sure your Mac is shut down. Press the power button. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator looks like a spinning gear. To leave Safe Mode, restart the computer normally, without holding any keys during startup. OK I haven't heard from you guys in a while and I have to get some sleep so before I leave let me try to help as much as I can: So far you... My last suggestions: 1- Have you tried typing what I told you before in the Terminal? This contains a suite of diagnostics that will test the hardware of your computer. It's a great way to rule out a hardware issue when troubleshooting your computer: If everything fails, I'm sorry but you'll have to take it to an Apple center or authorized dealer and let them take a deeper look. Thanks for this tip! I had the same problem described above unresponsive keyboard , but I was able to fix it by using: kextstat -kl awk '! BoomDevice and now everything works fine again! My keyboard and mouse stopped responding. A USB keyboard and a USB mouse worked fine. I rebooted my computer, replaced the keyboard batteries, and even ran the script to see if there were any items I should kill. Never happened before and I suspect it was related to using my cell phone. After reselecting Bluetooth, everything worked fine. A green light should appear. If the keyboard is failing with particular keys, and you find that when connected to a different device like iPhone that the same physical keys fail, then probably you have a defective keyboard. Neither show up at all on my imac. Then, there were repetitions of my Macbook freezing on the login screen. Any thoughts other than buying a usb keyboard. It seems the mouse has a list of devices it tries to connect to.
